On September 22nd, 2018, the final round of the 6th Guangdong Provincial Undergraduates' English Teaching Skills Competition was held at Zhaoqing College, Guangdong. Three students from the Department of English, advised by Dr. Tang Jieyi, entered the final competition.  Zhang Fangfang won the first prize and Li Jie the third prize.

Guangdong Provincial Undergraduates' English Teaching Skills Competition is the largest and the most influential undergraduate competition in English teaching skills. Twenty four contestants from fifteen universities and colleges entered the final round this year.
